Meet Heather

Heather T. Bushey, MAAT, ATR, NCC, LPC
Founder | Registered Art Therapist | Licensed Professional Counselor
I believe that therapy should be a place where you can truly be yourself—a place where you feel heard, understood, and accepted for who you are.
I have a particular passion for working with individuals who experience ADHD, learning differences, and other neurodivergent challenges. As a mother of two boys with ADHD, I have personally experienced the joys, challenges, advocacy, and sometimes frustrations that can come with navigating a neurodivergent world. This lived experience has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of understanding the whole person—not simply focusing on a diagnosis or challenge.
As a Clinical Director, Registered Art Therapist, and Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring more than 20 years of experience to my work with teens, young adults, and women. I use a holistic and individualized approach, combining Art Therapy and evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients work through anxiety, grief, self-esteem, life transitions, neurodivergent experiences, and the challenges of balancing work, relationships, and everyday life.
I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to listen, help you discover your strengths, provide support and guidance, and walk alongside you as you work toward the life you want to create. Sometimes that means developing practical coping strategies; sometimes it means making sense of what you have been through; and sometimes it means simply having a safe place to be heard.
I want therapy to feel comfortable, collaborative, and even creative. You don't have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. We can start wherever you are and take it one step at a time. It is important that therapy does not feel punitive or negatively affect the willingness to seek services in the future. When a person is not ready to participate, it is difficult to facilitate progress in therapy despite clear clinical need.
As I often say, “I am the skipper, and you are the captain; together, we can sail this ship anywhere.”
I would be honored to be part of your journey.
